You know , as a Sony fanboy, im really disappointed at the quality of ALL Sony's systems. Maybe its just my luck, but , around 2 weeks ago my PS3 got the yellow lights of death. The same day I hooked up my original playstation only to see that it wont read any games. Let me also clear something up that, I take care of my stuff like its my bible. If theres a crease in just the manual on one of my games, I dont even want the game anymore. Anyways, I sent in my Ps3, along with a 190$ check to get my $600 dollar investement back to sony, and hopefully they will return THAT same ps3, or else i wont be able to recover the data (the sony rep told me) of all my pictures of my dead deceased golden retriever 11 1/2 year old dog whom just passed away the same week my Ps3 died. So in the meantime waiting for the repair I've been playing my PsOne slim today and it has froze 4 times in the last hour. I've got every system besides a wii and 360 there is..... (Sega cd, 32x, dreamcast, nes, super nes , n64 , gamecube, saturn, etc..) and yet they all still work! I'm starting to become really optimisic on the quality of hardware sony makes. Maybe its just my luck. If ONLY it wasnt for all the great games that i can only have on playstation platforms !!!!Damn you SOny!!

Why would you keep all of your pictures on 1 device?

Sorry for your loss. Mainly your dog, but also your PS3. Unfortunately looks like you've had to learn the hard way, like most of us have at one time or another, to keep back ups.

Sorry buddy, but the only console made with true quality parts is Nintendo. The longevity is amazing. I am saying this without being a Nintendo fan.

You have no remorse for the poor guy if you're expecting them to invest more on a $600 system. He's right. If I had to pay $600 for a system it better work.

I know I learned to do backups after Resistance 2.. had to restart from level 1 on the Online twice, once because I didn't know how easily I could get corrupted data, and the second time because my internet was really unstable at that time...

On topic.. Your dog and your ps3 in the same week? Ouch... =/

I bought my PS3 day one on Europe, 60GB version, I used to travel alot with it (probably made more than 500km), never bothered to turn it off properly (only recently I've found out that it's harmful to turn it off by the power lol), played it over 1400hours and still works perfectly. I guess some people are just lucky... or on your case, very unlucky.

I've had every Sony console (including PSP) and only the original playstation ever broke and that was after probably 3 or 4 solid years.
