I love this BS statements.
Eye Toy fits that phrase since 2003(?), Natal just takes it even further.

Considering how much Microsoft is charging for their rest of accessories add-ons. Is it really that hard to expect this thing to be pricy?
I understand people want to see their console win, but to expect a company to sell 20GB harddrive for $80, network adapot for $100.... will sell a 'revolutionary device' for only $50???
COME ON!!!!

MS stated the pricing will follow that of their console hardware. Which as everyone knows, starts out selling at a loss.

Natal price point not yet announced
Despite persistent nagging, Xbox representatives were also tight-lipped about the expected retail price of Natal last night, inevitably leaving journalists to speculate wildly: the general consensus was that the add-on might cost anywhere from €100 to €200, but that’s just an educated guess. |
Thanks for clearing that up. I wonder how they came to that "educated" guess, what info they took into account.
I think Microsoft is letting people think $100-200 or whatever so that when they actually announce the price it will seem cheap because its less than what people expected.
Do you know what its like to live on the far side of Uranus?
I think it will land somewhere between 80-100 bucks with a game compilation included.

And even if it was, MS should focus on making Natal really godd so that it works in the long run. Technology has always been cheaper after a while, and the better concept will encourage 3rd parties to develope for their console, which attracts customers.
50 bucks and a free game is the price id pay
otherwise it has to blow me away like wii did with the golf
Wii fit has proven that pricey accessories/add-ons can sell. Perhaps if Microsoft can book the Natal on Oprah...
Seriously though, Microsoft has taken losses with Xbox before: The original Xbox lost a billion dollars a year for the company and they still made the 360.
