It's simply not that easy ...

Most people who have bought their HDTVs before the summer of 2006 do not have HDMI connections. When you look at the back of these TVs you will see a a massive number of connections; coaxial, RCA, S-Video, DVI, VGA and component (and typically multiples of each of these inputs). I honestly don't blame people for being confused by all of the options, getting frustrated and sticking with what they know (RCA).

so HD is bad because people are retards that cant plug in a cable or two.... wow.

 no wonder people can make a living by seting up TVs for others.

 Its also funny as hell to think people are such morons that they will spend a few grand on a tv yet do no research about it.  

 either way they but it in a store, and the sales people will always push accesories like hdmi or Component cables on them.

Yeah, obviously people can play games like zelda, and metroid prime, but they cant plug a SINGLE wire from their console into the TV. *doh*

And since you're talking about the PS3, is the HDMI wire in the box ? 

 Are you putting words in my mouth? I never said HD was bad at all! 

I said the General Masses probably don't have the techno savvy to set up an HD system with all those systems... EVEN IF THEY HAD THE HDMI CABLES!

 You're creating counter arguments in your head and responding to them, regardless of what I'm saying! 

There will be some people with SDTV's will still get PS3s and Xbox360s, and there will be people HDTV's that will get Wiis. Its not an exclusive thing where its one way or the other.

so thats why my tv came with 3 foot wide instrustions..... so no worries, these things have been idiot proofed.

People who aren't around technology, i.e. computers and TV's and stuff won't be able to be as savvy as those who are around technology all the time, i.e. gamers.

I can recompile my linux kernel in about 20-30 minutes, but that doesn't mean the general populus is dumb because they don't know what recompiling means, (or what linux is, or even what a kernel is). I'm just around computers so it seems easy for me!

Your right. People cant hook up TVs. But it's easier to hook up a PS3 than it is a Wii.

Why? Plug wire into PS3/Wii.

For the Wii, you now plug 3 color coded wires... into the proper plugs.

For the PS3, Plug... the... one plug... into the only thing on the TV that will take it.

THe Wii would have the biggest problems with this, becuase it is aimed at NON-gamers. 90 year old grandmas, 5 year old children, and their incopetent mothers.

The PS3 is aimed at technology savvy people.

(I can build a entire computer from being in packaging to running a game in about 8 hours)
