Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Anyone else love the "Nintendo" cycle?

Damn right

Oh yeah, that's a funny thing that happens every generation. The worst one was probably with WW. Man I loved that meltdown, and later, the praising.

Its dumb when this happens. Like what do you want changed. Its a sequal so its supposed to be the same! I think they are haters really

Tag:I'm not bias towards Nintendo. You just think that way (Admin note - it's "biased".  Not "bias")
(killeryoshis note - Who put that there ?)
Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true

i love both parts of the "cycle", i love when they do something new and i love when they go back to their roots, of course as long as whatever they're doing is held up to the same standards as their past masterpeices

I also love how Galaxy 2 will most likely score worse than Galaxy 1, despite improving on all fronts, because it'll be 'too much of the same'. While at the same time, HD sequels that follow this exact same pattern get rated much higher than their original counterparts.

Yup, it is fun to see NSMBWii and Other M get criticism for exact opposite reasons.

The only recent Nintendo game i think that escaped this cycle one way or another was Galaxy.

Believe it or not, there are those who now praise Sunshine and shun Galaxy because its linearity and repetition.  They're a minority but they're definitely there.

People praise Mario Sunshine? What has this world come to!

Totally agree with you. Maybe its because mario has set a very high standard and people are always expecting something new and amazing and this starts the "Nintendo cycle" again.

I think it's more or less different audiences being vocal at certain times.

For example the people who like the old school games who want something similar revolt when something new arrives while the people who want something new keep quiet or praise the new game.

Opposite occurs for the other type.

Kind of like how Ps3 fans say "it's all about the games" when 360 is winning in weekly sales and "LOOK PS3 IS OUTSELLING 360" when PS3 is winning, these comments come from two different groups but only 1 is active at a time which depends on the state of the platform.

welcome to the world dude. you could spend your entire life nitpicking hypocrisy. but you are correct i think. when it comes down to it, everyone is a hypocrite

Take the games back to their roots and forget those who want such things as Metroid Gaiden Solid, or Star Hunter Mario
