Sounds pretty cool, Don't like the idea of running automatically though.

It probably controls fairly simmilar to metroid. You ran automatically in that game too. I don't see what the problem would be except people can't handle d-pads in todays world.

@Stefan

not that I'm aware of. There was an embargo on the summit and I'm not aware of Nintendo actually releasing a video yet.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
In the past we played games. In the future we watch games. - Forest-Spirit

What do you guys mean with running automatically? like on on rail game or what? Or that you can't walk?

Anyway time to replay super metroid again.

You move with d-pad, so you go into a run automatically when you press left or right, there's no walking.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Matt is impressed, now I am not sure what to think of this game.

From his preview he seems to love every aspect that makes me worried about the game...

The only thing that bothers me about the game is that there is no nunchuk. I need to see some footage first to be 100% if I'm gonna to get this game.

The game don't need a nunchuk because it's a 2D game gameplay, you just move front/back.

hardcore game with casual controls confirmed! :)

I'm ging to see some gamers hating this idea...

 And proud member of the Mega Mario Movement!

The 2-D to 3-D switching could be a sweet concept if only you were able to move in the 1st person perspective.. They should have just made the controls Wiimote+nunchuck so that you could do this. I'm not sure I like having to stop dead in your tracks any time you want to aim or look around in 1st person.

Game sounds interesting though, maybe I'll buy it if and when it hits 30 bucks...
