Forums - Nintendo - Two things I think about the DSi XL costing $189.

Yeah, it's coming to NA at the end of March, and it costs $20 than the DSi.

On the one hand, the increased size does mean they need more hardware, at least for the screens and casing, so that does increase the manufacturing costs. And unlike the PSPGo or GBA Micro, you don't actually lose anything, so at least there is that.

On the other hand, that's almost as much as the Wii, so I hope it goes down very soon when sales volume brings down the manufacturing cost.

Seriously, I might as well get a regular DSi for my family's second DS at that price.

Stop making excuses, but it will sell anyway.

Buy a DSLite, its a lot cheaper and doesn't have a useless camera attached

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

My first DS is already a lite. This is for my roommates. So it depends on if they want the larger screens or the GBA attachment more.*

*They have some GBA games, but we also have a GBA, a Gameboy Player, and the DS Lite we already have.

In fairness, it's already preloaded with almost $20 worth of software.

And these are not preloaded with the regular DSi?

I bet I could use Brain Age Express Math: I hate math and have to work the hardest at it of my classes this semester. Even the easy stuff gives me problems sometimes....   I am not sure how the expect me to buy another D.S. with so many great Wii and D.S. games coming out along with the ones I still need to buy.
