Forums - Microsoft - Alan Wake been in Post-Production since June 2009?!

Above is a link to an interview with Remedy's Matias Myllyrine concerning Alan Wake and this console generation. Now what really stuck out in my mind is the following:

"We had the whole game fully playable around E3 last year, and we've just been balancing, tuning, polishing and iterating in post-production since. Games are fairly expensive, and if you put down 60 Euros, the Remedy brand has to stand for something - otherwise people aren't going to come back.

"I could get on my post-production soap box... how many games have you played that you see there's the potential of something really wonderful there, but it's not fully envisioned?" he asked.

Apparently the games been in development for 6 years with a long post-production time. IMO it's always good to see devs really take care in the details to produce something extra special. Expect a game with very few bugs and a lot of pollish!

Hopefully the final product is as well polished and tuned as they are saying. It definitely looks like it will be a fantastic experience.

Haha This game will be amazing!

Wayne Rooney is the best!  Manchester United rules!

As long is it's out before June 2010 I'm not to fussed.
Would rather they add the polish.

Well, it mostly means the game needed that long post-production. Considering how hyped its' getting lately i bet MS is making sure it reeaally won't disappoint.

Either way, it's good to see a dev pushing for extra quality rather than just rushing a release. I'm sure MS don't want it to go the Too Human route, and by the look of things it won't.

This is yet another reason why developers like to work with MGS as a publisher. Would EA, Activision or Take Two allow this much time for post production??????

Microsoft is patient... .... .... .... ..... ........................................................................ ...... ...... very very patient at that. Thats probably the longest game development time for any game which will actually release this generation.

Didn't Take Two publish Duke Nukem Forever?

OT: As long as it's releasing in May with high levels of polish, I'm glad.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Considering the game in question I think "publish" is the wrong word
