Forums - Sony - heavy rain user score in metacritc is 6.1???

i still remember when on metacritic xbox fanboys voted down resistance and in return ps fan boys voted down halo, it was all very silly and totally unnecessary.

Disclaimer: I have not played this game nor will I play it since I don't have a PS3. But, being curious, I HAVE watched some game gameplay videos, and frankly, they left me VERY indifferent (and that's being polite), for a variety of reasons. So I can see how some would legitimately think this game is not the greatest thing since the wheel. Quite probably a lot of the down grades ARE from haters/fanboys, I would simply not count on all of them being so.

I think you should play the game before voting.

Not sure what you mean, as I didn't vote for this game (nor am I going to). If you meant in general, of course I agree, but unfortunately even in Amazon anyone can write a game review, whether they actually played the game or not... (which is probably why they fairly recently added the "Amazon Verified Purchase" tag to reviews where the reviewer actually bought the game through Amazon)

I meant  this as a general comment. I really think that it is silly to rate a game from a demo or from a couple of minutes of play. For example, after an initial look at inFamous I thought it was horribly looking, but once you get into the game there is a lot to love.

blatantly haters of sony and/or quantic dream

no idea how to make this properly work

What about all the fanboys that rate it 10 without playing it, just because it's on their favorite system? It goes both ways it just comes down to who's more persistent, the people that love it or the haters.

death to heavy rain
halo forever

User scores are bullshit. People either rate something a 10 if they like it or a 0 if they don't.

I wouldn't trust any score on pretty much any site now, sadly. Too many idiots simply vote to express an opinion and an uninformed and biased one at that. Probably half the votes for a title like Gears 2 are PS3 fanfolk voting it down and it's probably the same for big PS3 titles, too.

I might look at the odd individual vote, but really, when you see the red 0 and 1 you know all you need to know, that the vote is irrelevant and either by someone without the wit to understand what they think they're voting on or a deliberate Troller voting something down.

Sadly, for a long time on the internet the trend has been to learn what to trust and what not to trust, and sadly the list of things not to trust grows a lot larger and faster than the other.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

When a user score average is that far below the critic's average, it's a given that fanboys are purposely tanking the score of game. It's sad and pathetic. If they enjoyed their console of choice as much as they'd claim, they'd be playing games on it instead of getting on the internet and spending their time sabotaging the user review score of another consoles exclusive game.

It will be great to see the user score of God of war 3.

What I find amusing about the reviews and general feeling around Heavy Rain is that people aren't giving the game a lot of slack. It seems that even the smallest faults in it are leading to lower scores, on the other hand more "traditional" (read into that what you will) games for example Mass Effect 2 and certainly GTA IV when it came out recently received resounding 10's despite some reviewers noting significant flaws.

Going back to the point though, the user score on meta critic is definitely fanboy influenced, especially considering the game isn't even out yet (in the UK anyway) as far as I was aware...I would have bought it if it was!
