Hi there you may not know me, but I just wanted to present this to you all, it is called RPG Inventor, got to http://hosting.dkt-solutions.com/jennyneul/RPGInventor/ basically it allows you to create and share your own RPG's, it is a huge project, and just to let you know its is in the early stages of development.

I have managed to get quite a lot done by myself, but the time has come where I need input from other people, that way I will be able to come up with even more awesome ideas, unfortunately I don't really have any money, so I am asking for voluteer's, you dont't have to be a artist or a programmer, even if you just post your ideas of how to improve this project of mine it would be good.

Anyone who contributes will be credited for this project, and hopefully I will be able to get some more programmer and artists on board, I really think it has some potential, but it needs more people to be fully realised!!

well i don't need any help toward story ideas for an RPG at the moment, I just need some input for developing this application of mine maybe I should take the time to explain to you all what it's all about and then maybe we can talk more about the project.

also if there are any budding artists, programmers who want to get their hands dirty let me know, if you are a programmer i can provide you with the code I have done so far, so you can look at it if you want lol.

Anyway I will update this thread later with more info if I can, updating my website right now lol

Ok I hope this a little clearer than my website lol, it uses too many technical words there.

My project basically envisions an application of where you can create your own RPG. the application does include the following

1. Creating your own maps using 2d Tilesets and Autotiles:

A 2d tilesset is often created by an artist and normally looks something like this, the application currently has no limitation on the size or qualtily of the tileset you use, giving you more freedom

An autotile is normally a 2d graphic containing all the possible states of a tile depending on where it is placed, did you know that lakes, pond, rivers, paths and some scenery in 2d rpg's are made from autotiles??? Well now you do, and it normally looks something like this (please notice it has the animations in as well, so when it is on your map you will notice the water rippling):

Each map can have up to three layers, also you are unrestricted on how many different tilesets you can use per map. Using the three layers you can end up with something like this:

I will post about character creation and customisation tomorrow, lol, lemme know when yo get the feel of what I have written so far.

Well, I could help you recolor things or even design something new if you want to... just give my anything to do, I am bored! Also you could download Vampires Dawn 1/2, it is one of the best RPG-Maker-Games I know, and it offers a lot of tilesets that are hard to get elsewhere, but I do not know if these are compatible to the RPG Inventor.

I experimented a lot some years ago, but lost all my data when my old-old laptop broke.

And it really looks like the RPG-Maker XP, so I should be able to get along with this program.
