I'm happy with my Phenom II.

Since I bought it in July though, it's come down in price by like 130$, though. >_> Luckily I got a 60$ off combo between it and my motherboard.

luckily the Sempron 140 I'm looking to buy won't drop a cent before it goes off the market Then again, I'm shopping for a super cheap, super low power HTPC. The other nice thing is if I do need the extra power the Sempron 140 can be unlocked to essentially a Athlon II X2 240 Regor. If it wasn't for the $20 coupon for the Sempron 140 it wouldn't make sense to risk the lower power option.

Anyways, I clicked Athlon II even though I don't have one

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Why "of course," exactly?

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

Its crazy that the Athlon range is almost vertical scaling for the first 4 entries. The $600 i5 750 and the 965 are an almost perfect match for price/performance.

I have no idea how that 'system price' thing works. So I cannot say it's crazy.

lol @ the three people who picked Core i7

lol at people that don't understand the unmatched performance you get quite cheaply from overclocked i7.

For the past two decades or more, computer hardware has had huge diminishing returns at the extreme high and low ends, with the best price:performance values somewhere in the middle. At the moment, the extreme high end is the Core-i7 line and the extreme low end consists mostly of low-power netbook/nettop CPUs like the Intel Atom. Both extremes have their uses, but to say that either are the best price:performance value for your money would be ludicrous.

It seems that some people just saw the word "performance" and went, "hurr Core i7 has bigger numbers so it must be the best!"

I don't know if anyone remembers this thread, but the kid I got a "broken" i7 920 and $200 mobo built it to play CS:Source. Nothing else! It was truly mind boggling.

It's like he thought core i7 sounded cool and awesome and bought it because of that.

Its the price of a full priced system with motherboard, ram, hdd, case, psu etc excluding Windows 7.
