while thats all well and good when your comparing that to the Wii and 360 that doesn't hold true for the NEXTbox at all. Do you honestly think the PS3 is more powerful than the 360 successor will be?

I think the PS3 from a technical perspective will likely beat a WiiHD if it comes out not too far in the future. Microsoft I am not sure, as they do have a lot of money and industry might, but even then Sony 1st and 2nd party devs I feel are better at making games and the PS3 in such a case will probably have an entry pricing advantage. The PS3 does not need to be the most powerful console out there like is currently the case to remain successful (look at the Wii, which from a technical perspective is more like a last gen product). The core technology is very solid for modern age HDTV/surround sound gaming and multi-media uses.

I don't want to see no Next gen consoles for another few years, Possibly atleast 3-4 years
The 360 and PS3 still has a lot of potential and both consoles are no where near their limits, they're just starting to peak

i agree without a doubt,but when ninty release the wii 2 the others will have to follow or fail. Simple as.

that is silly... PS4 will be needed because 1080p is way hard to get in PS3... and 1080p is going to be the standard for the next decade...

hope sony only releases the next console in Q4 of 2012 because i still want to achieve the 1000 trophies mark
now that i think about trophies...

PS4 will be out when the time is right. PS3 has got a alot of life left in it considering few third party developers have even bothered taking advantage of its abilities over the other 2 machines. There would need to be a significant technical leap as we saw betwen ps1 and ps2 and ps3. Programmers will aso need to be able to program for what is likely to be a seriously powerful machine and many of them ate still catching up on this generation. I would expect Microsoft to rush out a new console in a couple of years time to try and get a head-start again but Sony have shown that a patient approach can shine through in the end.
