Forums - Microsoft - Natal Has 0.1 Sec Input Lag

Unless you were expecting fighters or reflex shooters like Unreal Tourny for Natal, this isn't really a problem.

I think it is way more than that. Almost half a second.

0.1 seconds would be pretty seamless to the viewer, but the tech demos shown we can clearly see lag.

Well, only time will tell.

good luck to microsoft.

its too bad to be honest

apologists will say it wont matter, haters will say it will

in the end if its enough of an issue, it will go into the overloaded graveyard of system add ons

100ms lag on mice is deemed unacceptable. Same thing with anything over 10ms refreshrate on monitors. Just applying the exact same standards across all the board.

why do you compare this to mice?

the only thing this can be compared to is the generation's standard... wireless controlers.

Because some people use mice the same way they use a controller?

The comparison is not relevant.  A wireless controller, the current console standard, fails against the mouse or wired stick.  I find most FPS unplayable on consoles because of the serious lag of the wireless controller.  And don't get me started on shooters, the bullet hell type.  One of my favortite genres, but unplayable on a wireless controller due to the lag and unresponsiveness of the sticks.

Anybody have any numbers on the latency of USB(I have read 20ms) and wireless?

So I guess your estimate of the lag by watching crappy low-quality youtube videos is superior to the lag studies done by MTV and DigitalFoundry?  BRILLIANT!
