What franchise made me buy a PS3?

No game has made me purchase a PS3 as I originally bought this thing for watching movies. (Allowed me to get rid of several electronics in my room.)

My first game was Batman: AA but if the game has to be from a first party developer it would be GT5 (wonders why that wasn't in the poll???)

Generation 8 Predictions so far.....(as of 9/2013)

Console that will sell most: Nintendo Wii U

Who will sell more consoles between Microsoft/SONY: SONY

It wasn't any particular franchise, but more of the sum of its parts. Basically, the PS3 itself made me want to buy it. Had it only been a game machine, I'd just bought a bluray player. However, because it is an excellent bluray player with internet connectivity, windows media player connectivity, and an play games, well that just made it worth it.

Then along game June 12 and the release of MGS4. It took a piss on GTAIV as well as pretty much every other game I've ever played.

Yes MGS4 is one of the Greatest Games in Video Game history I got the Japanese Version on June 16 and have played through it about 15 times now all we need Kojima to make is a new Snacher game or Zone of the Enders or both.

I had never played any of the franchises above. I got mine for Grand Theft Auto and happened to pick the next-gen console I felt most comfortable with (though I never owned any console before).

I bought it mainly for Valkyria Chronicles last Summer. I had summer vacation and a lot of free time and nothing to do. It was worth of every penny. =) Of course eventually I would have bought one. (before GOWIII)
