Forums - General - Blu-Ray outsells HD DVD 65:35 week ending 11/11. YTD sales 77:23 in Europe

Waiting for the noobs to come and spin the facts in hddvd's favor.

On a side note have any of you played pokemon emerald? If so what levels do kyoger, groudon, and rayquaza start at when you catch them?

has HD-DVD won a single week this year?

 Its practically impossible for HDDVD to get any week cause it has less movies and releases new movies less frequently.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Toshiba needs to just give up. This is sad. lol

Keep flogging your horse. Why would Toshiba possibly want to give up 30%-40% of the HD movie market? I'm sure they hate all that extra money and brand recognition.

Both formats are here to stay, and its becoming more certain by the day.

(should Sony give up, because the PS3 has only 16% of the next-gen console market? I think not...)

So, it's fairly obvious that WB will be going BD exclusive, well, if the decision isn't made by Microsoft, ofcourse ;)

I hope MSFT doesnt throw a crapload of money out to WB to prolong this war. This is all MSFT's fault. I getting an apple next time, lol. Or maybe ill use linux

 That statement can also apply to MS in Japan & Parts of Europe, and the PS3 everywhere.  Just because you don't have the majority 50%+ doesn't mean its over.

You know what's sad?

Offering HD-DVD players for $99 at Wal-Mart and still being beaten by Blu-Ray.

Now you know why HD-DVD's situation is desperate.

@shams

What da hek is wrong with you? You acting like a raging mad fanboy. Chill out! Besides the ps3 has 18% not 16% :P

While I'll agree MS isn't exactly a great company, these conspiracy theories about MS throwing millions of dollars into the war just to prolong it are getting really annoying. They have come out and said numerous times those rumors are completely bogus "stories" being dug/made up by some internet fanatics (read: Bill Hunt...shudder....god he's awful at perpetuating crap-ass rumors...and people freaking believe him! (this is why I bring him up, no matter how useless his journalistic integrity is).

Toshiba on the other hand; well you can blame them all you want. Because they are the ones making all these payouts to prolong the war. MS deserves all the heat/pressure/hate they get for all the crap things they have done in the past, but this is actually something that really doesn't involve MS very much at all. If you actually look at this obvectively, you'll see they have very little involvement in this "war", mainly just contributing software, such as VC-1 (to both BD and HD DVD mind you). They support HD DVD, but that doesn't mean they're gonna throw 150 million dollars into this; sorry that logic is flawed.

Anyways, just get your hate going in the right direction (towards Toshiba), and don't believe everything you read on the internet.

Toshiba = HD DVD

MS = barely cares about HD DVD (relatively to the rest of the projects the company is involved in)

PS Linux rocks. UBUNTU ftw my friend

I was at best buy today and saw blu ray players for 299, and next to them were HD DVD players for 299. I was suprised because I thought that hddvd players were alot cheaper than blu ray. Personally I am wondering how well the simpsons Blu ray disc will sell. Its the only HD movie that i will buy as soon as it comes out for full price.
