Forums - Nintendo - What's up with Wii Fit?

Yea I noticed that today as well as I tried to find a place where someone could find them (no Gamestops haha) for Wii Fit Plus. We also haven't had a shipment since the holidays and I don't see any future of getting them til another month. But yea closest store to us that has it is 700 miles away and then the next is 1800... that's insane.

But yea Wiis, PS3s, Wii Remotes, and Mario Kart Wii have just been difficult to fine. Although, we are finally starting to get some more Mario Karts in but they sell out instantly. At least regular shipments though. Wii Remotes, NONE SINCE NOVEMBER. That's really the strange thing, and maybe a sign that Nintendo is no longer selling them standalone, just in Wii Play or with motionplus because have gotten plenty of them.

As for Wiis and PS3s, well we usually get a shipment every couple of weeks, but literally hours to sell out, especially Wiis. Takes a little longer for the PS3s due to the 250gb. I expect that to pick back up in late March.

But I think what is happening, is Nintendo UNLOADED this holiday season, and aside from NSMB Wii which they have finally been able to meet demand, they may have been taken back by actually how popular these items were going to be in the holiday season. Same with Sony on the PS3's.

This is not isolated to Florida.
I live in CT and work for Wal-Mart and we got in... four Wii Fit's for the whole week.

I'm guessing Nintendo exhausted most of It's supplys during the holidays and didn't figure it would sell as much in January or Feb?

Either that or they have something big up their sleeves...

Everyone talks about PS3 shortages, which is true, but It's nothing compared to the Wii Fit and Wii system shortage we are having.

Pretty much every Wii Fit and Wii System we receive is sold within 24 hours. We are happy to receive anything at this point.

Do you guys get any standalone Wii remotes? We haven't gotten a single shipment since the first week of January (much like Wii Fit).  All we've had for weeks are the Wiimote/WM+ bundles, which most people aren't willing to buy because of the price.

WM+ bundled wiimote I think it's Nintendo trying to make WM+ standard. Their was a post around here with people from different country saying that all the wiimote were bundled with wm+ so I think it's definitly done on purpose. As for the balance board I think Nintendo simply didn't expect to sell so much more with the release of Wii Fit+, yet over 50% sold were with it bundled(that over 5 million of them) so they are most likely completly out of them.

I get the feeling that may be what they are up to as well.

But it seems a tad early to be trying to do that. The lack of games that require WM+ make it rather hard for people to justify spending $55 on a controller. Most people just go, "You don't have any regular controls? $55 is too much. I'll just go somewhere else."

I blame Wii Fit.

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

Yes we get stand alone Wii Motes. Though they were hard to come by in January they have picked up since then.

I am also wondering if Nintendo wants to make Wii Motion + a standard since we got in a ton of those Pink and Blue Wiimote with Wii Motion + combos and seem to have gotten more of the normal combos then regular Wiimotes.

It's just that simple.

Wii Fit is not being shipped anymore permantly. But I don't know why Wii Fit+ is so hard to find.

Due to lack of demands, people no longer are buying WiiFit/+.
However, Nintendo could do a $50 price cut to invigorate the market.

Maybe Nintendo's going to announce a premium Wii bundle or something to that effect, could explain diverted Wiimotes and Balance Boards.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Too much demand.
Too little supply.

Hopefully the situation changes soon.
