Forums - Nintendo - What's up with Wii Fit?

As many of you know, I work at GameStop.  Since the end of the holidays, we've had issues keeping numerous items in stock, from Wiis, ps3s, and Wii remotes to even Mario Kart at times.

The real anomaly in all this, however, is Wii Fit.  We haven't recieved a single shipment of Wii Fit since the start of January.  As of today, only two stores in the entire country had any Wii Fit + bundles in stock, and the closest store with any leftover vanilla Wii Fit bundles is in Mississippi.

It's as if Nintendo completely stopped manufacturing the game, which is mind boggling because at my store alone, we get numerous people asking for the game everyday.

Any ideas as to what's going on?

Maybe they've decided that Florida doesn't deserve video games, not even Wii Fit!

I said it was happening nationwide!

And I'm not even from Florida!

:P

That state named after a girl next to it? The one noone ever thinks about?

Instead of guessing (and failing miserably) why don't you just click on my profile.

This is not isolated to Florida.
I live in CT and work for Wal-Mart and we got in... four Wii Fit's for the whole week.

I'm guessing Nintendo exhausted most of It's supplys during the holidays and didn't figure it would sell as much in January or Feb?

Either that or they have something big up their sleeves...

Everyone talks about PS3 shortages, which is true, but It's nothing compared to the Wii Fit and Wii system shortage we are having.

Pretty much every Wii Fit and Wii System we receive is sold within 24 hours. We are happy to receive anything at this point.

It's just that simple.

Lala land? Sounds like Louis? A girls name Louis?

I am still curious how consoles and to some extent games are still so hard to find after this long. I was lucky as my friend works at a video store that sells games/systems. She called me up and my boss let me leave work for 15minutes to get it.

Wii fit did really well during the holiday season.  I am still shock that the Wii have become so popular world wide.

Do you guys get any standalone Wii remotes? We haven't gotten a single shipment since the first week of January (much like Wii Fit).  All we've had for weeks are the Wiimote/WM+ bundles, which most people aren't willing to buy because of the price.
