Forums - Gaming Discussion - Singapore un-bans Mass Effect

From Gamespot -

"Yesterday we reported that gamers in Singapore weren't going to be able to get their hands on the highly anticipated sci-fi action RPG Mass Effect.

The game was banned in the country after the Media Development Authority objected to a scene where the main character (if selected as a woman) kissed and caressed an alien character of female appearence as part of a romantic sub plot.

Today, however, The Straits Times is reporting that the ban has now been lifted and the game given an M18 rating instead. The Board of Film Censors issued a statement saying it would be creating a games classification system in January, and in the interim, it would be selectively using games ratings to "enable highly anticipated games to be launched in Singapore."

Singapore had been the only country to ban Microsoft and Bioware's title"

The Philidelphia was not an accident. It was a merciful bullet to the head of a malignant ideology. It was the death of fear and the birth of hope. Rejoice, children of Nod, the blood of your oppressors will flow and fifty years of tyranny will finally end. Transformation is coming. A new day will dawn. The future... is ours
