This was a great game finished it allready on all levels and so is Dante´s Inferno for those asking in this thread (haven´t finished it yet)

i guess when you buy games like this, you're buying the concept more than the gameplay, because it's all the same really. the combat doesn't change, you're mashing buttons to hell. it's all about story. that's why i don't quite like bayonetta as much coz it sounds ridiculous.

Yeah its pretty good. Great style and solid gameplay...its a little lacking on the originality front and a little predictable cause of it.

Cosidering that both ninja gaiden and devil may cry dropped the ball, Darksiders would be one of my favourite hack this gen and slash games if Bayonetta didn't come out...That game just demolished all expectations and standards...

I'd rate the hack and slash games (that I played) this gen in the follwing order

1. Bayonetta

6. Conan
7. Dantes Inferno

Didn't play Heavely sword...

I don't see the appeal with Bayonetta, I thought the demo was terrible, and played the rest of it at my mates, which was still terrible o.O.

I haven't played Darksiders yet either, but I sort of want to, I think I'll wait for this "90 minute demo" they're talking about, that should help me make my mind up.

Although I DO love Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (Too bad it isn't as bloody though, lol), and DMC4 is still great, but lacks terribly as opposed to the other 3 in the series.

Conan wasn't TOO bad back then, but it was very basic and lacking in too many areas.

Dante's Inferno = A disgrace to the gaming industry, when you completely copy a game and reskin it... PLEASE be a little more discreet with it, EVERYTHING is the same as God of War with a few renames and reskins, even the contols are the same (Replace R2 with O though), but damn... bad game.

Haven't played Heavenly Sword either, although it's meant to be good o.O

i just don't see my self playing bayonetta due to her character/story.it's unapealing to me for some reason.the game play is top notch though.

ninja gaiden sigma 2 gameplay is also very good but again the story is crap.I like a game with good story that's why i m leaning towards darksiders and dante.their story apeals to me.

by the way heavenly sword is awesome aswell. beautiful and fun to play with a very good story line.

conan should not be in top anything it's pure crap imo.

To be honest...all of these hack and slash games have cliched characters. Weather its an arnold Swartzeneger wannabie or a pissed off Greek closet freak or a chick with 2X the leg size...they all are equally unappealing. So gameplay is all that counts and Bayonetta has the gameplay category locked for me.

All those games to me have terrible stories too so I dont see how you can say story is main factor behind these games. Presentation maybe?

Conan wasn't good but I like it better than Dantes inferno for some reason...I find dantes inferno really cheap and tedious. It could be that I played it right after bayonetta which made gamplay ...

Heavenly sword seems pretty cool as does God of War 3. They see very cinematic and presentation seems flawless...so I see why one would like those if they were in to a cinematic experience.
