Also it is obvious there is shortages of PS3 in the US right now.

I think that Sony has made a mistake in not having a large enough supply during the 1st quarter which is really going to be its hottest quarter game-wise....lot of AAA games coming out for 1st Q and sony frankly dropped it here.

They probably didn't expect it to sell quite as much as it is, plus I think they were withholding some consoles in preparation for a God of War III bundle in North America (like the God of War PSP bundle).

We'll see what gets announced at Destination PlayStation this week.

Sony are trying to push the 250GB because it is profitable, they dont care much about the 120GB.

idk bout that since they did themselves say that they were going for 13mill in the fiscal year, if they didnt know they were gonna hit 13mill, then epic fail for them, i think they are just withholding for profits

With the amount of sales last quarter they are on track to sell well beyond their estimation for this fiscal year. So demand is outpacing supply.

I didn't expect to see these kind of shortages around here (not one to be found at the local Media Markt Groningen, a major buyer of PS3s from Sony). They need to be back on track in time for Final Fantasy XIII and God of War next month.

Likely they did antipate to sell enormous amounts of bundles in March.

If they've shipped 33.5 million and only sold 31.8 million it stands to reason they're holding back stock within the distribution chain. It's a bit strange to suggest those 1.7 million units are being withheld until they can make a profit because those units are made already, so they will be sold at a loss regardless. If those 1.7 million PS3s are out there then I have no idea why they aren't on shop shelves.

Where are the PS3s? The truth is out there...
