Forums - General Discussion - Have videogames ever affected your social life???

Oh yes I enjoy off topic discussion =)  I usually try to have a balance in my life and share the free time I have into many activities. But there have been times when videogames had been an escape -from -reality factor. (Mostly in my teens ). Nowadays videogames dont affect my life much but there have been some occasions when I have heard protesting from girlfriends but there was  one time where I even managed to introduce a girl to Adventure Games .It was fun playing Monkey Island and Broken Sword together. You know what they say though....Good things usually don't last  - and games are not a crucial factor for 2 people to be together(in that case it was my inability to accept her political views about superiority of race and crap like that ;P).

So,if you have had an experience were gaming affected your personal life in any way and want to share it,feel free to do so!

And ,as always, if my english sux blame my nationality ;)

Videogames are my personal life.

Your English is very good Angelo.

OT: Yes it has in the past, but I was actually just told on Thursday by my lovely bride to be that I do a "great job balancing all of my social life". I do get into the "gaming haze" when I really like a game though, most recently with Mass Effect 2.

I don't know. I guess, if it weren't for video games, I'd have gone out and done more things, instead of staying indoors and playing. Still, I was doing what made me happy. They never stopped me from being normal (shut up.). I do know that purchasing video games have been the source of countless arguments between me and my girlfriend. But if it weren't video games, it'd be movies or comic books or music or porn or wrestling or guns or fishing (hate fishing) or one of a thousand other things that I'd be doing to escape from reality.

My video games slogan: "At least it ain't marijuana"

"Mario is kiddy"
"Nintendo is kiddy, but a ps"
people in my country are soooooooo..... ps centric
so they used to callI only play kiddy games or "adict".... until they played the games

"Death Grip" I believe.

Of course. Every minute spent playing games could have been spent doing something worthwhile.
