Forums - Sony - Howard Stringer (Sony) to CNN: 100,000 PS3s sold the week ending Nov. 11

PS3 sales do seem to be picking up quite a lot. I was at Best Buy with my dad at one O'clock and they had 14 of them in front of a 46in Sony LCD that was $1779 w/free PS3 and 5 Blu-rays. Then at 6 O'clock I went to the Keg with my Grandpartens, and my grandpa was asking about photoshop so we stoped back in. Earlyer I had told them about the deal and they went and check it out, and all of the 14 PS3's were gone. Even I was a little shocked at this. Then when I got home my dad called and said that they went to Wal-Mart to get Uncharted and Guitar Hero 3, and Wal-Mart was sold out of GH3 and PS3's. I am not sure what thier full stock is, but I picked up Uncharted saturday at 2 in the morning and they had the shelves packed.

If this is happening everywhere I can see some awsome numbers from NPD next month.

I'm just trying to figure out what the "rule" is about posting sarcastic/joke posts so I can start reporting EVERYBODY that does it.

I mean obviously, if I'm to be warned for doing it, I'd love to have everyone that does it in this forum "warned" and/or banned.

You fail miserably at sarcastic/joke posts

I think you should never post on these forums ever again...

See what I did there??

Funny how the nintendo fanboys love labeling anyone who even hints anything positive about the ps3 a fanboy.

Fishyjoe said "And the debunking continues. So the number could possibly even include the PSP as well as the PS2."
To suggest that sony sold 100,000 including the psp is laughable and shows how much you allow your hate of sony to cloud your judgement or that you purposely are puting up anti sony posts.

I don't mind a good debate but you can't resist flaming and when others do it you get on your high horse and accuse them of doing the same thing which makes you a hypocrite.

I didn't think there was any Sony fanboy desperate enough to spin this but I guess I was wrong.

Fishyjoe is citing an article where a Sony spokeperson clarifies what Stringer said, clearly pointing out that his original words were misleading. I don't really care what your beef is with supposed Nintendo fanboys, but you have to be pretty stupid to ignore this unless you can come up with a damn good argument about how Kimberly Otzman is a very powerful figment of everyone's imagination, because your argument isn't with fishy but her.

A little advice, though. Don't attack mods with your only weapon being a strong sense of denial and a total post count of 1.

It wasn't even a joke, you are just one of the people crying that the PS3 sales on this site are always undertracked. You try to do it by passive-aggressive posts putting smiley's at the end when it's your real feelings anyways.

One look at all of your past posts shows about 95% are all regarding Sony. You're a sony fanboy who probably cries at night when people bash it or the newest sales come out and you claim bias. I see you everywhere trying to get anybody banned who says anything bad about the PS3, you should worry about your own smart remarks because you're probably on a faster track to getting banned than anybody else that way.

Find me one post I've made, present joke excluded, where I complained that Sony numbers are "under tracked."  Sure, I've called out the site for being bias.  But that's mainly the mods.  They are letting their personal feelings get in the way of fair and balanced moderation.  I can point you to literally hundreds of posts of people stating the "end of Sony" and "joke" posts about the twisting of numbers that the mods have let go with no such warnings.  However, since FishyJoe has an obvious bias in this matter, he is coming down hard on me because of my views.  There have been many, many "leaders" who unjustly crucified people just because of the difference in their beliefs.  My only complaint is that this site has no moderation control.  If one thing has been proven time and time again, "Unlimited power corrupts".

There are many men through history that have proven that absolute power is not the answer in any situation.

"Where law ends, tyranny begins" - - William Pitt (Younger)
"Unlimited power is apt to corrupt the minds of those who possess it; and this I know, my lords, that where laws end, tyranny begins" - - William Pitt (Younger)

"Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men." - - Lord Acton

"Power will intoxicate the best hearts, as wine the strongest heads. No man is wise enough, nor good enough to be trusted with unlimited power." - - Charles Caleb Colton

Amazingly enough, those are all English quotations.  Who would know more about the corruption of power than a country rules by Kings and Queens the majority of their existance.

It seems the mods need help with this forum.  I have zero tolerance for trolling, platform criticism (Rule 4), and poster bad-mouthing (Rule 3.4) and you will be reported.

Everybody starts at 1 post and as far as that article goes it is open to interpretation.

Nowhere does it state that the total includes the psp. It seems more possible that it could include the ps2 and the ps3 but I highly doubt that it includes the sony handhelds as well.

ps. Don't worry I will be making many more posts from hereon out.

Also the point I was trying to make is that many users try to manipulate a lot of the articles to support their view and especially when it can be used to downgrade and belittle sony.

@ Andir, you made a "joke" post that most people didn't get and it offended a mod who over reacted a bit, no point getting annoyed about it and over reacting to a far greater degree, just let it go.

Sony has a habbit of trying to spin facts to make things seem better then they are, this is just another example of either bad communication, bad PR or bad reporting.

@gbex

"see what I did there?" is the most annoying catch phase in recent times. Please for the love of sanity don't use it again.

Bloomberg.com found out from Sony Computer Entertainment corporate spokesperson Kimberly Otzman that the 100,000 actually was inclusive of all PlayStation consoles, which we would assume means PS2 and PSP as well – not so impressive.

I don't see what's open to interpretation. The Sony spokesperson says the number covers all Playstation consoles.

It says that it "assumes" that it includes the psp but I assume that it does not include handhelds.
