Do you think Alan Wake has the ability to sell consoles? I think so, as this game will most likely be highly rated and there isn't anything like it. What's your take on this?

IF THAT MOVES HARDWARE then expect Alan wake to do the same..

Maybe a few, but I think it's too niche to have a noticeable impact.

I dont think HR or AW will move hardware, maybe a couple consoles but not a huge push.

All three consoles have too many good games to have new hardware boosting games. I mean, if you're not gonna buy a 360 at $200 to get the ten or so great games on the system, you're not gonna buy it for $200 to get 11 good games. The exception, of course, is NSMBWii, but Mario is always the exception.

in my opinion AW appeals to a bigger audience with its gameplay not every1 can get into HR

ill announce in this thread i think AW will be HUGE over 2m sold b4 2011 begins higher than 90 on meta

im a ps3 fan and ill admit that the game looks good enough for a sony only guy like me to go out and buy a 360 for it if ur a sony only guy and cant at least say that ur jealous of AW u dont have to go and buy a 360 but give it credit than i dont know wats wrong with u

Hmmm... It might be if MS makes a good bundle with the 360... they'll probably do it to appease PS3s sales after GoW3, so yeh, I guess Alan Wake will make the 360 get +500k week one. I'll be one of those case that happens =p

I believe so. The graphics are the best of any game and that includes Uncharted 2. And hype among the hardcore is based on graphics. Name any huge hit (non Wii) and it started based on graphics. For example, the first Assassins Creed, at the time those graphics were amazing. Even COD4, if you'll remember the initial buzz was how great it looked, the rest is history.

MS just need to publicize it well.
