Forums - Nintendo Discussion - I suddenly have a Wii in my house! :O

New Super Mario Bros Wii is the best 2D Mario, so you really can't go wrong with that. Some might argue that Super Mario Bros 3 or Super Mario World are better, but no matter what it is a superb game.

Galaxy is also an excellent game, but in my opinion didn't have the re-playability that Mario 64 had. The game doesn't really allow you to explore as much since most of the planets are small. 3D mario's also doesn't really allow for speedruns through stages like 2D marios, and you can typically just walk around badguys which I tend to enjoy jumping on. A great game, and a must play experience but I'd take NSMBWii over it any day.

Super Paper Mario is the weakest of the Mario experiences on the Wii, but still a fun title. It has the least amount of replay value due to having excessive amounts of text. It is a 2D/3D platformer with minimal RPG elements. If you can only buy 2 and you aren't looking for a unique experience, then I'd pass on this.

There are a lot of other great games available too, like Punch-Out!!, Mario Strikers Charged, Mario Kart, Brawl, and more, but rather than just list games, if you tell me what genre you are interested in, or if there are any games in my collection you are interested in I can give you a pretty detailed view on the games. Most the games (not all of them) in my collection are worth a purchase.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

That list is like so totally lame yo! VGC's Wii Guide is so much better.

Nice thread ;)

@VivaLaWiida

I guess I could've done that :p but I don't use reviews much.. Well, might be because I play many JRPGs.. reviews of them are always.. useless ;)

if you are over 18. No More Heroes 1 + 2 are a definite. I have been spending my time on tatsunoko vs capcom recently and been enjoying the complexities of that game. I would also recommend de Blob if you are into puzzle/platformers... I don't own it yet myself, but I have been playing my friends copy and enjoying it, enough to go and buy the game for myself.

@Norlead
If NSMB is in the league of those two it's def. a must have for me, loved those two.
I might get one of the others too but it's no hurry. I can buy them at a later date if I ever get the time.

@woopah
Didn't know fire emblem was on wii too :o cool

Since you own Disgaea and Valkyria Chronicles you will probably like Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. One of the harder strategy games available, but totally worth the purchase.

FE:RD is the sequel to Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance on GC. If you can find it starting with that wouldn't be a bad idea. It is a little easier and you'll get the back story. If you can't get PoR, then starting with RD is fine as the story is explained really well anyways. The only thing to remember when you start RD is don't use your super powerful characters that you get off the bat, or you'll be screwed later on. Once your weaker characters catch up to them you can start using the stronger guys for something besides a shield.

If you go in for JRPGs or games having something to do with Japan then Muramasa is a must-buy for you. You also should look forward to "The Last Story", "Xenoblade" , "Monster Hunter 3"(although I don't think it's a full-fledged RPG), "Fragile Dreams" and the list goes on and on..

Oh and don't buy Baroque.. it sucks.
