Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Remedy explains decision to release Alan Wake on Xbox 360 only

I hope it doesn't come for PC because I hate to spend $60 on a game and after a few months find out that I can get the game for free.

I hope it comes for PC because I hate spending 60$ for a game when I can get it for free

I`m sure MS and Remedy think the same

Haha, that's another way to look at it. I usually think like that about multiplatforms, I ask myself how many months I am prepared to wait for the free download.

Guess why I haven't played Assassin's Creed II yet.

But Alan Wake I need first day.

The XBOX360 just needs more exclusive games to stand out.

What a lame excuse. They saw some $ from MS, that´s it. PC gamers do have large screnns as well.

So MS paid them to keep their game AWAY from their platform?

Win!!

Since Halo 3, Microsoft stopped porting Xbox games to the PC. I don't blame them. Console exclusives like Left 4 Dead and Mass Effect sell very well on the 360 to begin with but if they go 360 full-out, avid PC gamers and PS3/PC gamers have no choice but to buy an Xbox 360 if they want to play the games.

A lot of avid PC gamers just aren't gonna care though. They've lived through years and years of popular console games never reaching the PC and they are used to it. And I can't blame them. I went 7 years without console gaming (unless you count emulation) and I didn't have a rig. A lot of great games (new games included) are playable on old PCs.

If it goes to PC it'll be DX10 only like Just Cause 2. They can't afford the manpower to test old unreliable XP configurations.

Not making Just Cause 2 playable on XP is a bad idea. Isn't it generally accepted that XP is better than Vista for gaming? Maybe they're banking on XP gamers switching to Windows 7.

I hope you're not serious.

Not a 360 fanboy, just a PS3 fanboy hater that likes putting them in their place ^.^

Exactly, both M$ and Remedy will lose money on this it just doesn't make any sense to not release it on PC as well. Maybe have it timed on 360 but it should definitely come to PC later on. Oh well i can't complain at least now people will agree that it is an exclusive.

How about you blame it on the PC gamers that don't make the platform viable for traditional core titles? I mean, if there was money in a game like Alan Wake on PC, Remedy would have done it. But unfortunately, that wasn't the case.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
