Will we be able to cut back on the "fat" jokes then? I really find them tasteless and unecessarily offensive in the bad way.

What in the world does this have to do with the thread? O_o
It was.
Don't blame Valve for the quality of the Orange Box port. If you want to blame them for not dedicating a team of developers specifically for PS3 development back in 2007 when the PS3 had a limited user base, fine.
But it's not like everyone who follows the games industry didn't know Valve had no intentions of diverting development support to the platform at the time.
Every thid party company goes multiplat one day. It's the law of good business of the times we live in.

I don't think so.
Valve's doing fine as is.
Their focus should continue to be their own in-house online distro services and their PC IPs second. If they want to expand to allow their games to reach the core gamers who are only on PS3, great. But it's still an issue of diverting developer resources into a PS3 exclusive development team. The costs in man hours would only be offset if they projected enough of those PS3 only gamers would jump at the opportunity to buy their games.
Personally, I'm inclined to believe that it's a smaller number than some might think considering that a lot of PS3 gamers either have an Xbox or PC with a decent VGA card in it. Valve games are pretty forgiving when it comes to PC specs after all.
If you like Valve games that much, you probably already have a game capable PC. If not a $199 Xbox will do.
What I got from this is actually, no, there won't be any PS3 games in the near future. He specifically says they'd need to get a team devoted to PS3 and from the sounds of things they've not got anyone that wants to work on PS3 currently and I don't think they're hiring enough to cover a PS3 team either. By the time they get a team together the PS4 will have come out.
Back to PC then.
