Today I can say the chances to DS surpass PS2 is less than 20%.

The last quarter for PS2 combined the figures with PS3.   We don't get last quarter figures for the DS until next week. 

The quarter previous to that, they basically tied.

Back up your statements with facts or be ready to get called out on them.

PS2 sold more than DS in the last two quarters... Jan-Mar and Apr-Jun.

It's know for all users here... PS2 is selling better than DS currently... and I expected that to be changed in Holidays but PS2 will have near a 1 million units ahead... so DS will not sell more than PS3 for the year.

Last year without 3DS... DS sold 5.1m and PS2 4.1m (Sony and Nintendo data)... DS will not outsell PS2.

Dude, where do you get these numbers? You are very confusing. Are these Vgchartz or official numbers from Sony? The latest numbers are 2.8m for PS3+PS2, its a safe bet to assume PS3 did around 1.8m.

So basically PS2 sold 2X more than DS.

But DS is still magically gonna outship PS2 in 2014.

Not really.   Look at what he was predicting.

Prediction:
PS2 - 160 million - early 2011. 
Reality:
It won't even be 160 million in early 2013.

Prediction:
The Wii will probably sell another 20 million copies in the next 2 to 3 years.
Reality:
2 years later, it sold 30 million more.

Prediction:
The sales of the Wii will be around 90 million copies and by then Nintendo will probably make the decision to discontinue the console.
Reality:
It's about 97 million and nowhere near close to being discontinued.

Prediction:
by 2012 or 2013, The Wii's WW sales will be at 90 or 100 million copies by the time its discontinued
Reality:
He's got the figures closer but it's not going to be discontinued any time soon.

Prediction:
The way I see it, it will be impossible for the Wii to outsell the PS2 in WW sales.

This he got right. 

If you keep reading my posts, you'll note my main issue with him was his insinstance that the Wii would be discontinued so quickly, not so much that it wouldn't pass the PS2 in sales.

Read carefully.  Those figures are for Q4 2011 from both Sony and Nintendo.

Q4 2011
DS - 520k
PS2 - 500-600k

Q1 2012
DS - Numbers are to be released next week
PS2 - Sony combined the PS2 and PS3 figures together.  Total is 2.8 million.

I am asking how could the PS2 go from 500-600k in Q4 2011 to 1 million in Q1 2012?   How would it just double its shipments for no reason?

You make some mistakes... fixed for accuracy.

Now about you question... PS2 shipped 1.4 million in Q4 2011... so why is so hard it have sold 1.1 million in Q4 2012... 20% down fits with the Sony PD.

Although technically it's not official, some people at Sony have said that the 16 million FY target breakdown is 13 million PS3 and 3 million PS2. Nintendo's FY projection for the DS is 2.5 million. And PS2 is still about 3 million ahead in terms of shipments. So even if Sony abandoned their forecast and discontinued the PS2 right now it would take the DS till mid-to late 2013 to catch it. And I can't really see Nintendo keeping it around until 2014. Not to mention the fact that Sony have always low balled the PS2 projection. They beat their PS2 forecasts for the past 3 years IIRC.
