Forums - General Discussion - Terrorists may have hit the US - Plane crashes into federal building in TX

Well it seemed like an accident at first but definitely intentional as we know now. And after reading Mr. Stack's manifesto, he's definitely not crazy but sure as hell pissed off. And not just your usual "I hate IRs" but seems to have the Che Guevara argument. After reading it he seems to be an anarchist but asking for a socialist society which makes sense if you know anything about socialism that Karl Marx wrote about.

I mean I don't want to come off as silly here, but a lot of what he writes is well true. I actually think he hit a lot of things dead on. Sad thing is though he reacted to it very poorly and this is what happens. But I think yall should try to read his manifesto he liked. It's quite interesting.

In no way am I defending his actions but I do like a lot of the things he said.

I think it was on purpose but calling it a terrorist attack is probably going a little far.

Oh it was definitely on puprose but I think you could easily call it a terrorist attack.  Obviously, just like the 9/11 terrorists, he wasn't going to take down an entire system or way of life, but that was his goal.  He was fed up with the capitalist American society, namely the tax system that was corrupt along with the politiicans who keep it that way and so he resorted to violence to get something started.  This man wanted to start a revolution.  I mean that's a war crime in my book.

While some of his opinions were out of left field, I wholeheartedly agree with his bringing up, "No taxation without representation." Do you realize that the estate tax is coming back at 55%? 55%!!!!!!!! This is the government taking over half of someone's estate that they built over a lifetime. These estates were already taxed when they were earned people. Socialism at its best.

Yea it is surprising how many things he says that are pretty true and agreeable in my perspective.

Well let's not get him confused with some of the arguments of the tea-party people in the Americas who are more along the lines of libertarians (at least the ideals they propose not hte actual people haha).  This guy is arguing the system is corrupt and it is perpetuated by politicans that ensure it that way.  They stay in power because no questions it.  They make the rich richer and the poor poorer.  He argues against capitalism and you learn at the end for socialism.  The man is essentially a revolutionary socialist, or better yet a Marxist if we go by what Karl Marx argued for, overthrowing the system.  Something Che Guevara did.

So no he's arguing for socialism at the core and saying capitalism is what is destroying America.  Well at least that's part of his argument.  A lot of it is attributed to the corrupt tax system that he states is meant to keep the poor poor and the rich rich.

the fact that most terrorist organizations these days use ragtag improvised weapons really tells me that not enough money is being invested into espionage

Yeah, sguy78, poor Hugh Hefner

Being on topic, this is actually a form of a terrorist attack, as by the definition of terrorism is to cause terror/fear among the society by trying to make a statement or bring a point across, usually for political gain or effect.

ter·ror·ist [térrərist]

Interesting. Now quasi-communists are bombing buildings.

Some of the stuff is agreeable, especially about taxes. But the tone and overall conclusion is not.

Very odd day in history.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I wouldn't say odd.  There have been anarchist/communist assassinations and terror attacks before in the country, but not in awhile I suppose.  It's just with this guy, it has me wondering of how many other people are going to start resorting to violence.  We already have a group called the "tea party" who are pretty much crazy enough to do something similar to this, especially the ones who don't understand anything about the party which is the majority of them.

Or even more specifically, how many more Mr. Stacks are we going to have.  Americans that just get fed up with the system and want something else.  Get fed up and so brought down by it, that they really do think the only way for change violence.  I mean Americans live in a pretty nice society, but like any it is very unforgiving.  And this guy does explain a lot of the darker sides of the system we just probably don't want to hear about it.

Luckily, our trustworthy media will try and clean this up as mere insanity and lunacy and not let the political aspects of it get out.  Which despite beign despicable is probably best for the situation.  Keep them under control and keep them thinking the system still works or more importantly works for them.  Guess the famous line from Network is kinda true, someone does need to get mad.  Just not mad enough to run a plane into a building.

I don't see what part of his manifest is left-wing. In fact, many of his arguments are pretty conservative (against big government, government cronyism, he attacks corrupt unions too). He seems like a centrist to me.

If you think it's left wing because he's against bailouts of businesses, I guess you have a weird definition of left wing.
