Forums - Gaming Discussion - Capcom laments DVD capacity - Lost Planet 2 compromised

i don't really believe them. If they really were planning on including all the content they would have made it free DLC and they could have included it on the blu-ray anyway. If it is DLC it obviously can't be THAT big, 2 dvds would easily hold it. Just sounds like an excuse to charge for DLC.

Did you really believe on that? Really? Why would they cut the content from the PS3 version too? Why wouldn't they make the game in 2 DVDs (which is not necessarily a bad thing)

It's just an excuse to make more money.

I figured they cut out enough content to stop them spilling over onto a second DVD, but then couldn't include these removed missions (or w/e) on the Blu-ray because then there'd be a huge backlash from 360 owners asking why Capcom were too cheap to take on a second DVD.

That was my thinking, at any rate.

But I agree with you that greed for DLC meant the decision had twin motives.

Eh, if they were really getting too content heavy, disc splitting's an easy solution. Put the campaign on one disc, the multiplayer maps on another. Easy.

Sounds more like an excuse for their inevitable DLC rollouts. Maybe I should wait for the "Super", "Gold" or "Colonies" edition?

I'm never getting Capcom games first day knowing that company.

Oh for god sakes, you're so transparant, anything to take a dig at Microsoft.

Blame Capcom if you want to blame anyone, they could put this on the bluray disc and offer it as free OR paid DLC on Xbox live but no ...

Its good to see they're making good use of DVD. It kills me whenever I see developers failing to maximise the space available on DVD. Those DS -> Xbox 360 ports are a real killer.

Though we will find out if this is true or not as soon as the install option becomes available. If LP2 is

Agreed.  Capcom is taking advantage of the situation to screw people over.

Reminds me Resident Evil 5's Versus mode.

Well capcom is actually being doing the "Buy the same game but with extra levels!" thing since the dawn of time.
Lost Planet 2 : Galaxy Edition incoming.

It was Capcom I was blaming.

As starcraft said, it's relatively inexpensive to spread a game over 2 DVDs so, regardless of whether Capcom were too cheap to use a second or too greedy not to go down the 'pay us $60 for the disc now... and $10 later on' road (or both!), they've still compromised the game's experience off-the-shelf and that angers me as I got quite hyped for purchasing after trying out the demo.

This had nothing to do with taking a dig at Microsoft or the DVD format, yet predictably you tried to spin it as such. Urgh.

Bullshit, you only posted this because it puts the Xbox in bad light, you're the predictable one.
