Honestly shocked and I am a Nintendo fan.  But what is even more suprising is the Wii, it seems to still be on track to beat out both.  Even more crazy, I've bought 3 DSs for myself (different versions) and 3 PS2s for myself (1 broken, then wanted a slim) not to mention several DSs and PS2s as gifts.  I've only bought 1 Wii.  Do people buy multiple Wiis?

Well I have 2 wii's and 3 DS's and soon to own 4. Doubt wether wii will outsell DS but will defintly outsell GBA and PS1. DS to take out PS2 Q4 2010 when it tops 144 Million sounds about right.

yeah a handheld like that has a bigger attach rate, there can be up to 4 in a house but only like 2 ps2's max

Especially as Nintendo makes such good quality consoles that don't need replacing and PS2s high sales in my opinion are due to so many repeat purchases after breakdown.

I think DS probably will do it, but i doubt Wii can.

GBA sold 80 million....... PS1 did 102 million.......


That's not completely true. The Gameboy only outsold the PS1 by like 16 million. And the Gameboy was released about 5 years
before PS1. Also the Wii is trending above the DS. How are you going to explain that?

People buy wiis than sell them only to buy them again?
