but i would do whatever i physically could to save anyone important to me.

Please explain? Do you mean its a choice that involves unrelated people?

Well your last statement IS the question at hand. Would you do everything physically possible to save anyone? Would you give up a piece of your finger? Your foot? Your heart? Your soul?

person A (who i love) and person B are both on the train track and i can only save one.. that kind of thing? or like, actively killing someone?

because if its the former, then you'd have to consider who person B is - is it a child, a mother, etc. I think its the sort of action i'd HAVE to make impulsively.

Mother bias!

it feels like the father is the useless part of the family that none cares if he is dead or not, he just sit there sucking it all up.

haha oh dear, im sorry. :( *doesnt have an excuse for the bias other than her gender*

*hopes her excuse is enough to persuade you that the bias was unintentional*

but if it was an active killing, then that's what i meant by "its not really anything to do with me". why should i ever need to kill someone in order to save someone else? What situation would i ever be in? Unless something like the Saw movies happened, and that thought scares the shit of me. Ugh.

:(

Well, that's kinda the story of the game =D

When I was younger, I could not imagine giving up my life for anything or anyone, let alone some fleeting, existential nonsense like love. Now, though, I have a wife of ten years and two young children. Looking into the eyes of either of my children, I now know what unconditional love truly means. I have lived a good life, so if the need were to arise, I hope I would have the courage to lay down my life for my children without hesitation.

Would you take from another man, just like you, his wife and two young children in order to save your own?

Which would pick? Love or morality?

Would I take that which someone else cherishes to save my own? Yes. Is that immoral? Maybe, since I would be crushed if someone did the same to my family to save their own.

nothing. I haven't won the lottery yet. lol!!!!!!

Well 2 things

who to save

the cost.

first the who to save part:

your wife, your kids, your brothers, your parents.

1) kids
You can always have other kids, but they are you legacy... so with this regards, it is worth saving your kids once they have started to develop a real personality... say 2 - 3 years old? They are not really a person before that age and their survival is likely dependent on your presence anyways.
Definitely choose your wife over your infant at the hospital... you don't have any affective link to the infant...
For your 10 year old son or daughter.... definitely do what you can.

2) parents and siblings
you won't get much more of these, but their path is different than yours... it is really a personnal choice, but in no way is your sister's life more valuable than yours, so you have to weigh everything. And don't forget that attempting to save someone doesn't mean you succeed, so giving up your life is just dumb here.

3) your wife
Well... how much do you love her?
Don't give up your life as there is always the risk that you fail to save her and then your kids are orphans.
Loosing a limb or something depends on your attachement for the person.... Though if you divorce 2 months later you'll surely regret it...

Now the cost:

1) Possesions... why not? you could even do that for your neighboor, this is no big loss.

2) Body parts... well you need 1 eye and try to keep your arms and hands, the rest is not essential. But you have to make sure your life is not put in danger... like don't give a lung or whatever the future makes possible. Even for your kids there you have to weigh things... I mean if they are in that bad a shape that they need a piece of your body, you're probably only giving them a few years at most... not worth a life.

3) Sex.... that means cohertion... then prefer killing the threat than sleeping with someone... cause if you are coherced into this it means that there is no moral barrier to killing the person anyways... and most likely self defence applies ....
if its for money to pay health care... then that's different... you might do it but be carefull.

4) Own life... really your choice but I find it valid only for your kids and as I said before if they are not infants. Then again, weigh in the chance of survival of everyone.... if you shield them from bullets to leave them on a battlefield... not much help...

5) Killing.... sure why not? pain on others is better than pain on you. Now if a gangster kidnaps your daughter and says "Jack, go kill president palmer"... the best choice would be to kill the gangster... cause he'll probably kill your daughter anyways...

But remember it's better to live and tell than to die for nothing.

Really? You're fine with games like PoP: WW, or Bioshock, but you can't handle a mature handling of violence, and a simple question of personal values?

I wouldn't kill someone unless it's an absolute must.

I would kill myself though.

What's that must? If your life is being threatened? If other people's lives are?
