Forums - PC Discussion - Next playable world shown for Star Wars: TOR. Taris

It's actually cool information. I just wish it were a regular game instead of a MMORPG.

Since it is a MMORPG, You are probably not going to getting very many responses.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

Good Info...I'm glad this game is launch in spring 2011 at the earliest...it would have gotten smash, if they attempteed to launch it this holiday season.

What's the point of recolonizing Taris? Find some other damn planet.

taris was a great city, i can imagine going back there in a couple of years an having as much fun as the first time

Just gotta say....why is there a whole thread devoted to this? I mean, this is the tenth planet to be announced. I mean, its fine and all, but I think we should actually make a thread devoted to Star Wars: Old Republic instead of just new threads for random announcements.

That aside, I'm kind of mixed on the announcement of Taris. On one hand, the images and info on the planet looks interesting (kind of like Degobah but with ruins). But on the other hand...its a planet in ruins and was already used in KOTOR. So I'm hoping it'll turn out well, but I'm probably going to need to see how it turns out in game.

Meh. I'm far more interested in the classes, and the sad fact 4 of them are jedi. I'm worried about that, locations aren't as important to the game as the underlying mechanics.

I agree, but at the same time, locations are important.  I mean, remember Star Wars Galaxies now.  The game had 6 full planets that were HUGE....but they were also pretty much barren and just copies of Everquest with generic monsters.  This game is looking to create planets near the scale of Star Wars Galaxies...but around 12-14 of them, and with actual variety and buildings, etc.  Not just a couple towns and then endless wilderness.

Frankly, I'm amazed by the scale and production budget of this game simply based on the planets alone.

That said, when are they going to show ANY information about a class aside from a stupid Jedi class.  Especially Imp Agent and Trooper.  All we've had is one lousy video for Trooper and absolutely nothing for Imp Agent.
