Pressure sensitive touch screens and pressure sensitive buttons would do it for me. Also screens that can be touched infinitely many times... so you can use your five fingers to do command sequences on the screen etc.

GB/GBC/GBA/DS compatibility.

Also, accelerators.

Pixel Art can be fun.

A Pictochat-like thing that would function like Skype over Wifi. A self-facing camera like on the DSi could do that. I think it's actually pretty likely to happen.

Multi-Touch Screen

Something unexpected : )

I would really like a web browser (should happen as DSi has it) and basic MP3 and video playback. I would really like it if the DS2 has some of the basic functionality of an IPOD touch, so that I don't have to carry 2 devices around with me. Therefore I hope it has at least an 8GB HD, and hopefully it has options for bigger HDs such as 16GB and 32GB.

Actually, since DSiware has now happened, I would surprised if Nintendo doesn't give us a decent HD-- gotta have room to store all their apps. I would also be surprised if Nintendo doesn't have a few different HD size options like the Zune and IPOD have.

Here is my complete list:

1. HD of at least 8-16GB
2. web broswer (would be really handy, because then I wouldn't need cell browser service)
3. MP3 and MPEG video playback-- hopefully with an option to download media files from a PC (although I wonder how much Nintendo might curb this option due to piracy concerns)
4. XL sized screens, or at least a deluxe model option with XL screens
5. Much better incorporation of online services into games-- I would love to have more games with online combat. Something akin to a Call of Duty type online experience on a portable DS would be quite amazing. I would also like to see a MMO style game on the DS.
6. Use of microphone to be able to chat to friends and people online while playing games (I'm not sure if any DS games let you do this or not)
7. Use of DS camera to allow video teleconferencing.
8. Some new innovative touch screen or motion control options to keep things fresh.

Most anticipated games of 2011:

Uncharted 3,Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Rocksmith

Modern Warfare 3, Super Mario 3D

I'd like to see Nintendo ditch the extra screen or make both touch screens. I don't think dual screens are really relevant in the current market. If Nintendo does ditch the second screen then I want a multitouch screen that is pressure sensative. Virtual Console for the handhelds. Really I want a new GameBoy not a new DS. I want something like the I-Pod Touch meets the PSP.

Visually I want GameCube graphics maybe even as high as Wii visuals. I want improved audio when compared to the DS. I want a headset like the one the DS has to come bundled with every console or a built in microphone for interactive gaming. A webcam built in so that you can video chat in games like can you imagine battling a friend and seeing your friends face while you kick his butt? A tilt sensor would also impress me making the device a true successor to both the GBA and the DS.

In other words I want a state of the art handheld!

Multi touch screen - but more importantly, and relatable to the nub thing you get, would be the use of two finger sensors that allows you to grab and pinch in the air.

Btw, i don't have a DS, i liked it when i first saw it but i just wasn't convinced enough like i was with the Wii.

Imagine the possibilites of using your index and thumb fingers to interact within a small 3D space, while also providing the traditional touch screen option. It would be more advanced than the DS but it wouldn't be so complicated that kids wouldn't understand it.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

An IR emitter and camera could pick up finger movements like this without the need for nubs. Also only the DS Phat has a thumb nub. I'm pretty sure Nintendo would have looked into this kind of thing and if they can make it practical in gameplay then I'm sure it'll be used but it might not be that useful when you think about it.

For me, I'd like a DS that has a clamshell design with one big foldable screen, big enough for two players to play simple games like air hockey using the one system. Because of the screens size, it'd be able to be backward compatible with DS, something like this but with buttons etc..

Probably too expensive to expect from Nintendo but it'd be cool :P
