Doom - back in the shareware days when you got 1/3 rd of the game free up front to play. Now that was a demo.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

the one i played most over and over again was fifa06, but that was last gen. this gen i played mirror's edge demo and lumines live over and over again

Actually scratch that i loved the halo CE demo for PC. That game had a crazy community for several years afterwards. It was awesome

Holy crap I totally forgot about the Halo:CE demo for pc. That was probably the best demo I ever played. The entire level of The Silent Cartographer was included as well as online multiplayer that actually had a huge community. It was still one of the most played games on PC a while ago. I had so much fun with that demo.

It's between BC2 beta/demo and the burnout paradise demo. So many hours spent on both, I logged about 50 hours just on the burnout demo alone. Heavy rain was also a great demo.
