Haha, that's exactly what I mean!

So it's just bashing buttons until a nice combo comes out of it and trying to remember what buttons you pushed? I'll try some of that now.

Most of the combos have a "light to heavy" movement or "punch to kick" movement, ie lightpunch->heavy punch->fireball or lightpunch->lightkick->specialmove. However, in addition, the is the combination of those two, the "light punch to heavykick"

as in lightP->heavyP->lightK->heavyK->special move.

On top of that, each character has a launching move which usually puts their combo range into perspective. A launcher shoots someone into the air, and is usually the end of a ground combo and the beginning of an air combo. IIRC Morrigans launcher is Down+HeavyPunch, so her combo is

lightP->DOWN+HeavyP->UP->LP->HP->LK->(HK or special)

Really the best advice is to go into the training room and press a button next to the enemy. Then press another button directly after. Hopefully that next attack will be fast enough to combo. Then it's kind of like a game of reverse-Simon-says as you figure out which punches and kicks lead into others.
One of my favorites is Jill's.
Basically
Hold Down, press Heavy Kick (HK), she will do a sliding sweep knocking opponent off feet onto the ground. As soon as they hit the ground, while still holding down, hit light kick. Timing will be difficult at first, but the effect should make them shudder. As soon as that kick connects, hit heavy punch, which will uppercut them into the air. Hit up and do that "light punch to fierce kick" combo, finishing with a special or super.

I figured it out! Just bash your opponent long enough so your meter at the bottom of the screen fills itseld and unleash an insane combo by pressing assist 1 and assist 2 simultaneously. I made a 67 hit combo with this!

Not "really" a combo perhaps, but that's what some dude did to me online all the time and I didn't stand a chance because of it.

Man this game is awesome, and a steal at €10.

hahahah man I love when people discover 10 year old gems. Truly a ridiculous game even after such a long time. Have fun dood.

I owe it all to the XBLA Deal of the Week. That's how I got Puzzle Quest and Shadow Complex too. W00t!

WOW those are 3 very cool games. I've been wanting to play shadow complex for a while. I played it at my friend's house and it was like Metroid. AAAHHHH!

Oh, wait, you didn't even know about the meter?

Yep. I played tons of Street Fighter II and Killer Instincts in the olden days, and I'm a big Super Smash Bros. fan. But never played any Capcom versus fighters before. But man this game rocks! Do any of you play it online on Xbox Live?

what is that, xbox>? Eww jk

I love it though, you sound like a kid in a candy store. I wish I could play with you but I don't even own it on my Triple. I have way too much to play right now to spend even 10$ on a new game.
