Forums - Sales Discussion - Prediction: Capcom will announce a major Wii game in 2010

And it will go on to be Capcom's biggest home console release of the year (whichever it's released in). That includes any HD multiplat's combined sales.

Capcom have messed up a number of times this gen, with Wii games and HD multiplats, and while their HD successes may possibly have been the bigger financial successes (though, the quarter they released Monster Hunter Tri in was their best for operating profit), the HD failures were much bigger financial mistakes than their Wii mistakes. Zack and Wiki and Dead Rising Wii got nothin' on Bionic Commando and Dark Void(originally projected to sell 2 million, first NPD 22K). It seems to me the big Japanese third parties were already thinking about leaning more towards Nintendo, but Dark Void will seal the deal.

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

No it looks hard, they said they doin't have many releases

They certainly were hurt by those two bomba's. What I find curious is the lack of media attention on these games. Yet the same outlets always want to trumpet ZW and DR for some reason...Quite odd.

I also think MH3 was an eye opener for Capcom..At least it should be..There must be a reason for them getting that MT Engine running on Wii. I just hope it isn't just to make some more shoddy ports. And instead to bring some original content heavy games to Wii.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

What other "big game" could Capcom announce, though? Monster Hunter 4? A non-rails RE? Seems to me like they backed themselves in a corner.

And wow at Dark Void numbers. Really sad, and yet we'll be hearing about Zack & Wiki well into 2020.

Tag - "No trolling on my watch!"

I wish they could make some Disney games again.

For a major Wii game this eyar, I could see Capcom working on a Nintendo franchise again.

Resident Evil 6?

I dont see Capcom making any major wii games unless nintendo steps in and does something

nintendo fanboy, but the good kind

proud soldier of nintopia

It's interesting, the big IP's are the ones that sell on Wii, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter 3 etc which is why Wii missing out on SF4 and RE5 was stupid in my opinion.

I think those games are more likely just going to influence Capcom's decision when handing out developement to western studio's, they've been stung twice by it now. Dead Rising 2 seems to be coming along fine though - they just need to partner with more capable studio's.

After Tatsunoku vs Capcom's NPD's figures I'm iffy as to what Capcom have that could sell big numbers on the Wii - except if they made a full blown RE, but they're probably better suited to putting any project like that as a HD multiplat.

Maybe they could ressurect the Megaman Soccer series and have Mario and Megaman and the FIFA world Cup 2010 :D. Guarenteed 10 million seller.
