I think that guy is a idiot , I'll leave it at that

Regardless of the gs guy jumping to a conclusion, it appears that sony is constraining the supply for some reason, probably to put in a new slim model i'd imagine or at least I cant think of a better reason to do this. Why would Sony want to constrain their own sales? Did they just realize that the hardware isnt profitable by itself?

haha,,sony o

PlayStation 3 120 GB purchase limit policy
As you may know, the PlayStation 3 120 GB is in great demand. In an effort to provide as many customers as possible with the opportunity to purchase PlayStation 3 120 GB, we are limiting the total number of PlayStation 3 120 GB units that can be purchased. As a result, each household may only purchase one PlayStation 3 120 GB unit. See additional policy details here.

Sorry I am kinda bored, feel like posting this one.

Sigh.. what is so diffcult to understand?

Every year, Sony (Europe), Sony (ANZO), Sony (America), Sony (Whatnots) make their business plans and order equipment based on their take of the market situation. Last year, Sony (America) underestimated the demand and did not order enough PS3s from Sony (HQ - or whatever it is called). End of Story - there is no way PS3s will start to appear in masses on american store shelves until 1st quarter next business period. This could mean that shortages will exist until April. All the manufactured PS3s have been allocated to their regions as per order and there is no magic warehouse which will fill american store shelves. You can be sure that Sony (HQ) is NOT happy about the american guy running the show (that is the reason his remarks about current NPD results are pointless drivel about software etc - obviously he knows his position is less than optimal due to his gaffe).

Also, please send me $299.99 american + a small finders fee (At least $35) and I'll have a PS3 delivered to your door by (checks Amazon) Tuesday, Feb 16th. Thank you.

It doesn''t really make sense for Sony to buy PS3's yearly, i'd think that every month or couple of months would be just fine given that you have a supplier that knows that you will be a long term cfustomer and trust.

Why are everyone blaming gamestop for this... It's so easy to blame them... I for once am skeptical about the OP's honesty to begin with...

What's stopping me from making something up about walmart? I could just as easily say....
"Hmmm... Well an employee from walmart told me not to buy the X360 now because a price drop will happen next month when Natal gets released..."

Wouldn't make it true and everyone would just jump at the throat of Walmart...

I am a Gamer... I play games and not consoles. I have a PC and Console on which I game... I like games. End of Story!

Today i bought a 250Gb at the mediamarkt, where the 120Gb were all sold out. My guess is Sony's discontinuing the 120GB model... hehe

does anyone here know how much GS offers for a trade in 40gig PS3 to buy a new 120gb slim?
