twesterm - you missed the point I made - you can use the start menu transporter to put you at the front of each event instead of riding down the mountain. And no, youre right, there are some moves that are just impossible for real life. What Im saying is, there are some moves in TRicky and SSX 3 that have been brought to life. Hell, a 1200+ spin was considered unrealistic in this time frame. Now Shaun White is spinning these rotations in a halfpipe.

Unless you are an avid snowboarder, you wouldn't recognize how many leaps and bounds the tricks have made in reality.

I don't know snowboarding but I do know physics.  Watch those videos again and 99% of those can't be done without killing or seriously hurting yourself.

Im calling the ASPCA. You're beating a dead horse, man.

Some of the SSX Tricky "special moves" are one-foot tricks, that can and have been done. The super extreme tricks, sure I can give you that. Double backflips are becoming stock footage in snowboard movies however, something that wasn't fathomable 10 years ago in the era of SSX Tricky. They're always pushing the boundaries. As I said, yes, some stuff is impossible, but snowboarders are taking moves out of these games and making them real.

Your initial complaint is still circumvented, about "riding the mountain" to get to an event.  =) SSX3 > Tricky.. so there ;-D

The thing is though SSX isn't fun because of those tricks people can really do (I never said there weren't), they're fun for flying down a hill 100mph and flying 100 feet in the air doing insane tricks nobody could ever do and then live through it.  I really don't care 10 years ago things were different in the world of snowboarind, in our lifetime nobody is going to fly through the air at 100mph and 100 feet in the air hit themselves with their snowboard in the head, fall back, catch it, and then spin around like an airplane while doing 12 backflips.  That is what makes SSX fun.  If you want a sim, go play Shawn White snowboarding.

Adding another completely unneeded amount of realism is just pointless and absolutely not needed.

Around the Network

^^^^ and again you miss the point. WTF?
Yeah, it does make it fun, but the environments/art make it fun, so shredding down MetroCity in freeride mode is also awesome, because how often are you going to shred down Main Street of a major urban location?

What I'm saying is that SSX3 offers the same things Tricky did, but also gives people a sandbox-like mode to traverse the hill. Your complaint is that you think you have to go through freeride to get to event starting points. I'm telling you there's a transporter that allows you to skip that. Your argument that SSX3 isnt as fun as Tricky is then flawed, because you can bypass freeride mode, while people who actually snowboard can appreciate the game for what it is.

And the Shaun White games are horrible sims. They are more "SSX" in their trick sequences than they are realistic. The best boarding simulation is 1080 Avalanche.

This horrible rumour must die, FGS Criterion, I want a new Burnout!

It's already dead, but damn it, I want a new SSX Tricky!

I doubt we would be that lucky, it would probably be another semi-open world SSX that would be just as bad as the last few. -_-

As far as I'm concerned the series ended after SSX Tricky.

One can dream...

*sigh*

Make that two!
