Yeah, it does make it fun, but the environments/art make it fun, so shredding down MetroCity in freeride mode is also awesome, because how often are you going to shred down Main Street of a major urban location?
What I'm saying is that SSX3 offers the same things Tricky did, but also gives people a sandbox-like mode to traverse the hill. Your complaint is that you think you have to go through freeride to get to event starting points. I'm telling you there's a transporter that allows you to skip that. Your argument that SSX3 isnt as fun as Tricky is then flawed, because you can bypass freeride mode, while people who actually snowboard can appreciate the game for what it is.
And the Shaun White games are horrible sims. They are more "SSX" in their trick sequences than they are realistic. The best boarding simulation is 1080 Avalanche.
