Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony reveals some numbers after recent NPD release

With HEAVY RAIN, God of War III, and Final Fantasy XIII all within the next month, I see good times ahead for the PS3. All Sony has to do is stay consistent with the quality, while continuing to shoot for profitability, and things will continue to head North.

i like the way you put up the statement, usually it gets tough for console fans to digest them and see sales not as good as it was expected to be. Anyways 33.75 mn PS3s, 67.45 mn Wiis and 39 mn 360s are the numbers I believe it to be so far, not falling down more than 1 mn for each if accurate tracking was done though.

MAG 500K is most likely shipped. Jack Tretton doesn't care if the numbers he cites are shipped or actual sales to the end customers.

So if anything this shows that antipication and demand for MAG wasn't extremely strong, as 500k ww isn't a huge shipment.

Or like you say, it's an estimation derived  from the number of registered soldiers on MAG online.

just like demon souls, don't ship a ton of a hardcore title. ship only enough, and those gotta be multiple accounts as I have 3 for each faction.

MAG isnt an MMO, they arent counting those, they are counting shipped from warehouse to stores.

Really, I think MAG did poorly first week due to low shipments. I just got in another 6 copies today. Before I left I had 3.

WKC isnt doing well though. Sadly.

You mean you are going to use numbers you make up yourself now rather than just use VGChartz numbers?

Mag seems to be sold out in a lot of places in the uk

Just to add to this. The only way that you would somehow effect this number, since unlike warhawk this isnt downloadable off the PSN, is if you created multiple accounts on your system and played mag on them all.

well after all we can't be relying only on one sales tracking site..they are the rough estimates. Don't u see 360 is undertracked as well?

What are you basing the undertracking knowledge off of?  Do you somehow have more data available than VGC?
