God of War 3 is one of the most anticipated games of this generation. Fans of the series are patiently waiting to get their hands on the next installment in the God of War series. The official Playstation magazine has published the first review for the game giving it a very respectful score 9/10. Also, the magazine has interviewed the director of the game Stig Asmussen and asked him some good questions.
One of the questions was about how does he feel now about the quality of the visuals in the game after seeing games like Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 setting a new visual benchmarks:
OPM: The game been in development for three years, how does it feel when other games set new visual benchmarks?
Stig: I think we were really scared about the visuals up until E3. When we did our press release back in March, we felt pretty good about it. But then we see games that are raising the bar like Uncharted 2 obviously did and Killzone 2 I think we just need to make something that, you know, people will talk about it in the same way. It’s a different game, but we’d be happy at that point.
Also, he revealed to the magazine that Hercules (Kratos brother) will be in the game and you will battle with him in one of the many boss fights you will encounter in the game:
OPM: What are the rules for making a great boss battle?
Stig: I think the most important is the personality of the guy you are fighting comes through. Setting up the personality between Kratos and Hercules-like, Hercules is the jilted brother who feels the gods have abandoned him and made Kratos the star. It’s completely away from how you’d expect Hercules to be. And the same is true for any of our fights.
The battle with Hercules sounds Epic. Personally, I can’t wait to get my hands on the full game when it arrives next month.
