Sony loses money for every system sold brah, getting used would help them out as it's the software that they want you to buy. =]

Buy both, and buy a Xbox 360 and a Wii while your at it. :D

Ps3's failure rate is very low so I'll go with the used one also, the old ps3 it's a little faster as Blu-ray and dvd player than the slim, I know this because my brother works for a tech magazine they have made some some tests, however it's not a great difference.On the other hand the slim consumes less Kw/h and +40GB hard drive can be useful if you like to download many demos and PSN games

Used Ps3 Pros:

-It's chaper

-It's a little faster as DVD/blu-ray player

New Ps3 slim Pros:

-Lower power consuption

-Larger Hard Drive

I definitely do not agree with you here leo-j. It's worth the 300 euro's and they've already been paid. I'm sharing the costs of the machine if I buy it second hand, and surely Sony will be very happy with me whenever i start buying games.

I bought a used 40gb refurbished ps3 two weeks ago from gamestop works fine no hiccups and gamestop gives u a free warrenty they gave me so tAke the risk go for it

I would buy the slim 25ogb($349.99), but you should probably get the slim 120gb($299.99).

You should go for the new slim, it's much more energy efficient, more failure proof, an evolved version of PS3. Backwards comp. PS3 new go for 400+ euros and you really don't want to buy used.
