Like a foreign Yank accent.

They were likely transplants from the rest of the South.. Orlando is very diverse and has people from all over the world living here. The most common accent I hear is British but they are not all tourists.. half of my neighborhood is British people.
It really all depends I mean even New Jersey has a decent amount of accents and we are small as hell.

Other American accents sound much better, and are the easiest form of English to understand IMO. The standard British accent sounds pretentious and it's not as easy to understand as most American accents. Some other British accents are almost impenetrable, such as the Sccotish accent. |
what do you mean by impenetrable?

Here in lovely Minnesota, we've got a pretty pronounced accent (think the movie Fargo but tone it down a few notches), it is what it is. Texans make fun of me, but I can always be secure in knowing that none of my relatives are married to their sisters/brothers/cattle. For the record, the sexiest accents are: British, Scottish and French. For women that is. American, not so hot. |
woohoo! i've never understood how mine could be considered sexy.
Even within Scotland (and Scotland has less than 6million people) there are at least 4 major distinct accents according to region, and several more within each of those regions. :)
I went to central florida, and I couldn't understand a word they spoke..
I live in south florida.. the most multi cultural place you could live in.

Like... very hard to understand. It was a while ago, but I once met a guy who (I think) was Scottish and I could barely understand a word, even though I'm pretty fluent in English and could even understand fairly well an Australian guy who mumbled a lot.
