Millennium said: If you asked anyone at Nintendo, they'd probably say Miyamoto (if only to cover up their shameful behavior concerning Yokoi in the past). But to be honest, I'd say it's much closer to a tie, or possibly even in Yokoi's favor. Yokoi isn't just responsible for the hardware that Nintendo made -the NES, Game Boy, and SNES- and more than one of the series, he's also the founder of the entire philosophical branch -"lateral thinking with withered technology"- which made Nintendo great, brought Nintendo down when they forgot it, and then brought them back to the top when they remembered. There's also the fact that he trained Miyamoto. |
Uhh, where are you getting he created the NES and SNES from? Masayuki Uemura was responsible for them. Gunpei Yokoi's relationship with Masayuki Uemura can most likely be described the same with he described his relationshiped with Miyamoto: "[Miyamoto] would do the creating while I supervised."
