Forums - Gaming Discussion - Do you think SONY influenced the reviews for Dante`s Inferno?

if sony had that much influence and money it would stop the PS3 hate from the media in 07 and 08.

by the way dante inferno is garbage compared to even god of war 2.

This thread fails....so instead of contributing anymore I'm going to post cute pics of kittens.

The game is getting the scores it deserves. I've accepted that whether a game is flawed or not, it is possible to enjoy the game (that's how I feel about The Saboteur and White Knight Chronicles, I like both games BUT I understand why critics are hard on the games). And can you give me a link to these figures you have on how much each company gets for whichever game they release? I suppose you should say the same thing about the Prototype/Infamous timing debacle. And I'm sure Sony delayed the release of Gran Turismo 5 because EA already paid all of the execs off for Need For Speed Shift.

I thought you said you were just going to post the picture of the cute kittens.

Man... Reviews are ruining the industry.. For real
Now that i look back to the last generation back in the PS2, Xbox Era i never onced look at reviews, every game i bought i enjoyed. Now reviews are impacting on sales of a game, Jeez its Crazy! Am still getting WKC even though its review are trash but those reviews are trash itself.
Forget the reviews and play Dante Inferno its a Fun game, Judge it yourself and write the review yourself lol

REAL TALK!

For me Dante's Inferno is a 7-8 score game... it's fun and interesting... but after all an A games and not AA or AAA.

God of War III (by the demo) is another level.

So... the game deserves the scores reviews.

im sure its actually the opposite, i had a chance to talk to one of the EA marketing guys, and they told me that sony paid them( as in EA) for the divine edition and early demo. sony wants to be seen as the action adventure genre platform, so they invested in the title hoping it would be a success(kinda like how microsoft invested in modern warfare 2). honestly plying the demo was a blast and the game looked promising, i guess there are some pitfalls the game suffers after the second half of the game according to reviews, so i guess you just liked it better than they did, no harm done. I was gonna skip DI anyway, waiting on the real thing baby, GoWIII can't come soon enough.

You disagree with reviews, it happens. I didn't get paid to give WKC a 6.2 and neither did any other site get paid to downplay Dante's Inferno. They just all didn't like it as much as you did. The idea that Sony paid to decrease the sales of a game on their console is ridiculous.

If I am not mistaken,Sony gets about 10$ per game as a royalty fee from Dante`s Inferno.

Mean whyle,it gets about 40$ per game from God of War 3.

So I don`t think it`s such a big loss, because Sony fans want GOW 3 anyway,so they will not buy DI in big numbers.

But 360 fans are interested in a GOW game, even if NG 2 did not reach 1 million on the 360. My take is that...well,it`s very hard. Really...i have it...hard

I do not say that it`s better than GOW3,it`s not,but so many low scores with many great ones from different sites?

No, it doesn't get close to that. The large majority of the $60 from a game sale goes to the retailer.

No, GOW is developed inhouse by Sony at the Santa Monica studio,so they get all the profit.

10$ is the retailer`s fee,10$ is the fee after the marketing is done,so that leaves about 40$ for Sony more or less.

And I don`t believe Sony is interested in Dante`s Inferno,I think Visceral games inserted a timed exclusive DLC in the ps3 version so they can sell more on the piracy free system that has a game close to the Dante`s Inferno crowd -> GOW 3.

But at the same time,Sony doesn`t want a game so similar and so close to it`s AAA game and also a system seller,GOW 3.

Competition is great for consumers, not companies and corporations.

no cause bayonetta got good reviews, but i know what u mean gow is only hyped cause its exclusive, when people who really play that genre would put ninja gaiden, bayonetta, and devil may cry ahead of gow

I agree with you, this game deserves better scores and it's more complex than the first two GOW games but I don't think that Sony payed for anything, why would they do that?
