The beginning is painfully slow. And there are weird breaks in the progression, like backtracking and having to dig for carrots.

In short, never finished it and never will.

It would be a great game for me if it had a decent challenge.

Hey, the puzzles in Okami weren't easy. If I hadn't told the VGC Bond how to get past that nasty stone guy on Oni Island, he would have never finished the game.

lol.  Cellphone to the rescue!

It is true that Mr. Stoppable gave me advice on this part of the game, but it did not involve a cellphone.  That would be cheating.

What I was doing wrong is that I was not putting dots on the weak point as they appeared on the stupid Blockhead.  I had no problem with remembering where the weak points were though.  This was proven when I got it right the first time after taking Rol's advice.

Eh, I'd more consider using a FAQ cheating.  Using a cellphone to memorize positions/order is exploiting. <3<3

The Blockheads were awful though.  Ugh.

I didn't have a problem with the characters, but the text reading was horrible. I'm not bragging but I read pretty quickly. I had to wait for the game to "load" the words (for lack of a better term). I wanted to read it, press A, and keep things going but those dialogue segments broke the pacing completely for me.

I felt it was just boring too. My sister was pretty involved in it though, so it found some use, but I don't really enjoy Okami as much as everyone else.

Then again, I might be the only person who ever lived that found Navi adorable, and smiled every time she said "Listen", which contrary to belief never really happened too often in OOT.

Yeah, I think part of the problem with Okami's dialog is the lukewarm script. The localization is pretty boring and flavorless, but then Capcom generally isn't on the same level with genre champs like Nintendo, Atlus, XSeed or Square Enix with that sort of stuff. It wasn't bad per se, just sort of flat and direct. :/

Also, Tatl >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Navi

such a great game..
Nice storytelling, beautiful graphics. Great gameplay and characters.

Minor flaws and tweaks, but that doesn´t bother..

Waiting for Okamiden

I got this game about a year ago.  I thought is was freaking absolutely amazing.  Still think it is amazing, but it gets to be a little to much for me.  I fought the Spider boss and found all the Kanine Gods.  Just lost interest after that.  I put about 14 hours into it, and just lost the interest I had at the beginning.  To be absolutely honest, I have no idea what to do next???

Try a guide. There are dozens of them available online.

I got Okami (wii) on release date in the UK after hearing all the great reviews of Okami for PS2. While I thought the game was great (design/music/story etc) I didn't feel it lived up to the "good as/better than Zelda" hype. In my view it didn't come close to Zelda... in fact it didn't really remind of a Zelda title.

That's not to say I didn't enjoy the game, I'll be buying Okaminden on its release outside of Japan - assuming it has one.
