yeah Super Wii is a nice name.....and the idea, "It had a $299.00 price tag, but you could trade in an older Wii and receive a significant discount off the purchase of Super Wii for doing so."
The is actually not a bad idea.....

I don't want a new Nintendo console until AT LEAST 2012.
it wouldn't make sense. There's a PS3 to play HD games and Wii to play games like SMG, Epic Mickey, No More Heroes, you know. It would actually upset me but not too much. But yes thats definately not happening.
NINTENDO
nintendo forever . . .
Super Wii this year? Of course I'll be upset. The Wii is doing just fine, and it has an AMAZING 2010 ahead, at least IMO. It's bad enough my wallet will be getting raped just buying the gems for the Wii, but a whole new system? Just to keep up? Just no...........Now, I wouldn't be that much upset if Nintendo does not pull the plug on the Wii immediately. But still, dissapointed with the fact that it's so early, not that I wouldn't enjoy getting a Wii successor, even if I get it late.
"The Common Cold Isn't So Common During The Cold"
Well if it is just a Wii with more power, I'd be very disappointed. I mean I have a 360 and a PS3. I don't need a Wii to do what they can do. That's why I love my Wii system so much, because it has the things the others don't... and the opposite for the PS360.
I'd hope the next console for Nintendo is a technical upgrade, but they continue to keep focusing on making games fun and interactive and immerse such that we can keep getting interesting new games to come. And if they decided to release another model of the Wii, just like any "new model" they have to sell it to me first. Simply upping the price for a few extra features won't do it.
It wouldn't just be a Wii with more power. I would offer much more than any of us could predict.
It would be perfect timing, being that this is year is a huge core gamer year for first party Wii titles, but more importantly, it would obliterate the marketing power of anything MS and Sony try with their motion controls.
People just don't understand this.
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
If Nintendo did that, I'd probably go exclusively Xbox 360, or even PS360. I might eventually get one, but I would probably wait for a price drop, and my hype would be extremely low for it compared to the Wii. Basically I would be pissed because I would feel ripped off by Nintendo, by promising so much potential in the Wii only to cut the life short early and release a new console.
Why should I get a Nintendo console if it just did all the same things the HD consoles did with no way of differentiating itself? The appeal of Wii to me is that it is so different than the other consoles.

Nintendo didn't do shit to you. It was third parties that did it. Blame them.

I'd be very upset that they don't keep up with their 10 years plan.
