A mix of 2 and 4 for me.

I really liked 4 because even though it was short, the story was decent and ended well before its lackluster return in Modern Warfare 2. As for the online, meh. A month straight of Call of Duty 4's multiplayer back in the day was enough to make me tired of it so the series hasn't really caught my interest as of late.

I agree it did that. I remember playing it in a demostation and thinking "I really want one of those." But I couldn't afford an Xbox back then... I still haven't got the game though, I am looking to pick it up for £10

Having said that, I thought MW 2 was the best. The best MP, though I think MW 1 edges it out in SP, and spec ops just helps it

Call of Duty 4 is arguably the best Call of Duty for me because they took a step into a different direction with the franchise.

I liked Modern Warfare 2 though, the only problem with it was that the game especially in the Multiplayer department felt rushed and despite their new features (+10 killstreak rewards, death streak and perk upgrades) it is too imbalanced but because people love it so much they play it.
