I just had a thought. If game informer was to review this game without "final fantasy" in mind, would they have given the game a lower score because of its linear gameplay?

I'm getting it regardless of its score..

It's crazy that in Feb/March type issue it can review Bioshock 2, Mass Effect 2, Heavy Rain, Final Fantasy XIII and Battlefield: BC2 and they're all 9+ (Except Bioshock with 8.25). Just shows how mental this Q1 is :).

As for the FF score, good start, but I do worry whether it's cause it's a good game or a Final Fantasy game. With something like FF though every game is different and every game will get different reactions so I guess it's hard to really review the thing objectively and quantify it with a score :/.

Heavy Rain got a 9.5 btw x.

If I am correct GI has bigger circulation than all other gaming magazines combined. Bad luck for FFXIII haters.

I honestly don't know why people believe reviewers give Final Fantasy games higher scores because of the name. A good game is a good game, and that's obviously what Final Fantasy XIII is.

Great score. Scored only .5 lower than Final Fantasy XII.

^ :) A good game is a good game and a good score is a good score even if it has 0.5 lower that it's predecessor. Anything += 9 is good.
