Really? And here I thought you were a reasonable man lol. It's so flawed. Biggest disappointment of 2009 IMO. I could stretch to giving it a 7 though.

I would say it was overhyped moreso than its overrated.  Peopel expected the next RE4, and we got a weak action game.  It scored in the low 8s, about what it deserves.

OT:

I'd have to go with GTAIV.  They took out a lot of what made GTA fun for me, and I couldn't get into the game at all.  I also think MW2 is overrated, based on what I've heard about how it compare to the first, but I haven't played it enough (only 2-3 hours) to really comment.

Well obviously RE5 for me which was a tragedy for me as a huge Resident Evil fan, but I think most of the RE fans kinda agree so only critically overrated I supposed. GTA IV probably in comparison to the series, but still a good game. But compared to the reviews, most definitely. That's just one of the cases where the game is still really good, but not the perfection they hold it up to. Same with Modern Warfare 2, although I think the game deserved more along the 8s rather than 9s.

Even though you said this, I'm still going to vote Metal Gear Solid 4. That game was average at best, I wish I hadn't bought it. Its only fun for fans of the series; there's no way a casual gamer who hasn't played much MGS could pick it up and play it and enjoy it.

Oh and I'd also like to say while there is a lot Infinity Ward could do to fix Modern Warfare 2 to make it more fun (fix the spawn system, shorten the range of commando, etc)...you can't fault them for the excessive camping people do. Its a great game and therefore not overrated, but the people who play it are dickheads.
