The sites numbers are the offical word until they are adjusted for whatever reason, but still having a 10% margin of error either way :P

So rather than satisfy your agenda why not just settle with they've both gotten respectible sales and be done with it?

As the vast majority of people never read instruction manuals, FAQs, rules, etc, there will always be this problem with new users, maybe, like many suggested, a disclaimer near the charts would be the only possible partial solution.

People like yourself only make these arguments worse with your constant insistance on proving a point for no reason other than you must not be wrong.  If people claim VC is overtracked and start spouting external numbers, remind them what forum they're on and ignore the rest of their trolling/arguing. 

Calling the people you disagree with 360 fanboys for not sharing your view though is unacceptable and makes you worse than them in some ways, if people constantly post FUD regarding VC's numbers then report them and leave the rest to the mods.  It's the mods job to keep things amicable, no need to start some crusade yourself or you'll end up like the unfortunate users in this thread who wouldn't let things drop.

For the record I don't know if VC's numbers are very accurate or not and I really don't care too much for the JRPG genre to bother finding out.

I'm not sure where your 7m psps comes from, but yes, it's entirely possible that there are many extra ps3s out there.
Not only is it normal to have 2-2.5M consoles in the warehouses, on the shelves, or in transit, but being that both products are new SKUs (New consoles) it makes sense for Sony to produce as many as possible to save money on production. On top of that, look at the next few months. It's tax season and a lot of people are getting big checks. There are :
Bioshock 2
Heavy Rain
FF13
God of War 3
Eyepet
and many others....

think about it...THIS IS ANOTHER HOLIDAY SEASON, and in holiday seasons, a stockpile of 3-5M consoles makes sense. Alternatively, it could indicate that Sony may drop price which will make demand soar.

See the problem with people like you, is that you have no perspective. To you, the numbers are wrong because you think they've been sold. You have no idea how many other explanations exist but yet you are so sure you know what's what. Nobody is required to explain these things to you, especially not any administration. Be polite, and less arrogant, and ask your fellow members what they think. And, think about it yourself too, and start a thread seeing if your idea is correct. LURK MOAR
